Shattered Pixel Dungeon brings back most of the plants from the original Pixel Dungeon, with the exception of Dreamweed. The Dreamweed seed and plant have been reverted to the seed and plant of blindweed, and the vertigo-inducing effects of Dreamweed have been moved over to the new Stormvine plant which induces single-target vertigo instead of an area of effect vertigo gas.

Other new plants include the Blandfruit Bush, Dreamfoil, Starflower, and the Regrowth-only Dewcatcher and Seed Pod.

Plants Edit

Blandfruit Bush Edit

SPD Blandfruit Bush
Blandfruit Bush
Distant cousin of the Rotberry, the pear-shaped produce of the Blandfruit bush tastes like caked dust. The fruit is gross and unsubstantial but isn't poisonous. perhaps it could be cooked.

  • Blandfruit Bushes can occasionally spawn naturally in gardens.
  • Unlike other plants that apply a buff/debuff, the Blandfruit Bush drops a special food item called Blandfruit.
    • Blandfruit is unsubstantial by itself (only provides half the satiety of Chargrilled Meat).
    • The fruit really shines when cooked with other seeds, providing fruits with great satiety recovery and special bonuses (see below).

Blindweed Edit

Dreamweed plant
Blindweed
Upon being touched a Blindweed perishes in a bright flash of light. The flash is strong enough to disorient for several seconds.

Dewcatcher Edit

SPD Dewcatcher
Dewcatcher
Dewcatchers camouflage as grass to avoid attention, but their bulges of collected dew give them away.

  • It gives 1 strong Dewdrop (2x normal HP) and 3-4 normal Dewdrops.
  • It's great for filling the Dew Vial.
  • It can only be found from using the Wand of Regrowth.

Dreamfoil Edit

SPD Dreamfoil
Dreamfoil
The Dreamfoil's prickly flowers contain a chemical which is known for its properties as a strong neutralizing agent. Most weaker creatures are overwhelmed and knocked unconscious, which gives the plant its namesake.

  • If it's triggered by a monster, it gives them the Magical Sleep debuff.
  • It refreshes the Hero/ine while not starving and debuffed.

Seed Pod Edit

SPD Seed Pod
Seed Pod
Seed Pods look pretty, but the seeds they carry are actually stolen from other plants they kill with their roots.

Starflower Edit

SPD Starflower
Starflower
An extremely rare plant, Starflower is said to grant holy power to whomever touches it.

  • It gives the Blessed buff for 30 turns.
    • The Blessed buff increases the Hero/ine's stats (accuracy and evasion).

Stormvine Edit

SPD Stormvine
Stormvine
Gravity affects the Stormvine plant strangely, allowing its whispy blue tendrils to 'hang' on the air. Anything caught in the vine is affected by this, and becomes disoriented.
